One can arrive at Nazaré by train on the Oeste railroad line (that links Lisbon to Figueira da Foz) and get off in Valado dos Frades (6 km away from Nazaré).

Access Nazaré by car, coming from any part of the country, by taking the A8 Motorway (linking Lisbon to Leiria), get out in the exit Nazaré (Valado / Alcobaça), only 6 km away from the town; following then on the National Road - E.N. 8-5 - or on the IC9 till you reach Nazaré.

If you take A1 Motorway (Lisbon – Porto) you can either connect the A8 in Leiria, on take the National Road – EN 242 until Nazaré.
